The 130 hens in the Eskom Foundation “hen house from heaven” project laid enough eggs last month to generate R3000 ($218 US) for the farm cooperative, which used the income to buy 100 broilers that were sold for R60 ($4.36 US) each. INMED South Africa will be adding extra hens to the project this coming month so this amount is expected to double in the very near future.
