The first farmers in our Increasing Access to Climate-Smart Agriculture program are taking our online training course in advance of INMED’s first Agricultural Entrepreneur Workshop scheduled for early July. The online training introduces farmers to the aquaponics technology, along with business planning and financial management. Those who successfully complete the course will be invited to participate in an intensive 3-day workshop, becoming pre-qualified to apply for a special loan to start their own aquaponics enterprise.
Special thanks to the Inter-American Development Bank/Multilateral Investment Fund and the Caribbean Development Bank for providing the financing to launch this innovative program to improve economic development, food security and climate change resilience for the people of Jamaica.
