Today is United Nations Day, marking the anniversary of the signing of the UN Charter in 1945. In 1971, the United Nations General Assembly recommended that the day be observed by Member States as a public holiday. INMED is celebrating United Nations Day by striving to advance UN global climate change adaptation goals through our climate-smart agriculture programs in South Africa, Jamaica and Peru. We’re also celebrating by supporting a national effort in Peru to eliminate soil-transmitted helminth infection, a neglected tropical disease and leading cause of anemia, malnutrition and stunted growth in millions of children in Peru. Partnering with Johnson & Johnson, INMED is mobilizing multilateral campaigns to enable Peru to become the first endemic country in 70 years to eliminate STH as a public health problem in children.
