Thankful Thursday

benjamin-with-diaper-bagINMED is thankful for all of the HOLA volunteers at Freddie Mac who not only organized an incredible “Career Day” field trip on Columbus Day for the kids in our After-School program but also provided INMED with boxes of snacks for our Opportunity Center. HOLA is a Freddie Mac employee resource group dedicated to promoting the diversity of Hispanic cultures and educating employees on the business value that diversity provides the company.

The field trip was part of HOLA’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Latino leaders throughout Freddie Mac inspired our kids by sharing their personal journeys to success and offering motivational advice. After a nice lunch break with pizza, salad and dessert, the kids performed a service project with Freddie Mac volunteers, stuffing diaper bags for another local charity. The day made quite an impression. One 4th grader said: “Doing something for other people in need makes me feel really good.” One of our 3rd grade girls said she was sad to leave and looks forward to visiting again.

Stay tuned; Freddie Mac may be saying “hola” to some future interns from INMED.
