This internationally recognized, award-winning program promotes children’s growth and development through health, hygiene and nutrition education; community health agent training and community mobilization to promote and achieve positive changes in health-promoting policy and infrastructure. The program also has installed hundreds of school gardens to provide nutritious produce to supplement school meals.
Healthy Children, Healthy Futures has been implemented in more than 60 towns in 15 states across Brazil, improving the health, lives and futures of 3 million children, training more than 50,000 teachers and community health workers and catalyzing a process of positive change that has engaged 5 million family and community members. The model also has been successfully replicated in South Africa and Jamaica.
