The first-grade class at the Fausta Siqueira school in Petrolina, Brazil enjoyed a tasty lesson in nutrition last week. Their teacher taught the names of a variety of fruits and explored colors, taste and texture. The students also played a blindfold game with the fruits, learned the importance of nutritious foods for growth and development, and ended the lesson by tasting the fruits.
This classroom nutrition activity is part of INMED’s Crescer Saudavel (Grow Healthy) program in partnership with the Monsanto Fund to provide greater access to fresh produce via school gardens and nutrition education and training to preschools in Petrolina.
