Our team at INMED Andes is facilitating the second National Deworming Day campaign in the Ucayali region of Peru, which has some the highest rates of soil-transmitted helminth infection (otherwise known as parasitic intestinal worms or STH) among children in Peru. STH is a leading cause of malnutrition, anemia and stunted growth in millions of children throughout the country. In partnership with Johnson & Johnson, INMED has mobilized a national plan to eliminate this public health problem within the next 5 years. Our deworming program is a key part of a national plan by the President of Peru to bring better health, clean water and sanitation to all Peruvians.
