And the Johannesburg winners are… Congratulations to Tshepana Primary School in Orange Farm, Gauteng for taking 1st place in INMED’s Health in Action Awards in South Africa. The award includes a brand new obstacle course worth R80,000 for the school’s outdoor play yard.
An initiative of INMED Partnerships for Children/INMED South Africa in partnership with the Mondelēz International Foundation, the Health in Action Awards recognize excellence and best practices among primary schools that participate in the Health in Action (HiA) program to improve the health, nutrition and well-being of children in disadvantaged communities of Port Elizabeth and Johannesburg.
Second place and a R10,000 voucher for Builders Warehouse went to Thembalihle Primary School in Orlando East, Soweto, while 3rd place went to Langalibalele Primary School in Orange Farm, which received a R5,000 voucher for Builders Warehouse.
All three schools were selected for their dedication, collaboration and creativity to promote healthy lifestyles, physical fitness and access to fresh produce through school gardens.
