INMED’s maternal and child health program in Peru sponsors regular baby showers to educate expecting mothers about raising healthy children. Our team at INMED Andes recently partnered with the Pucallpa regional hospital to throw a lively baby shower as an incentive for pregnant women to attend all their prenatal care visits. In addition to gifts, food and entertainment, the women learned the importance of prenatal care for ensuring their newborns get a healthy start in life and as a means for reducing infant mortality rates.
