INMED South Africa and USAID

Our team at INMED South Africa led an international team from USAID on a two-day visit to sites in in Free State, South Africa, where INMED will soon install aquaponics systems under a recent USAID grant to bring people with disabilities into the mainstream economy through new, adaptive agricultural technologies and access to financing. The program also will help the Disabled People South Africa (DPSA) Free State Provincial Office build its capacity to better serve its members.

INMED has worked in the disability sector in South Africa since 2012, delivering direct training and technical assistance in sustainable, climate-change adaptive agriculture, as well as substantial inputs to enable members of disabled persons’ cooperative groups in the Free State and Limpopo provinces to launch new income-generating enterprises.
