Incorporating Fresh Produce From School Gardens into Children’s Meals

Our team at Para Crianças in Brazil is training cafeteria workers at 117 preschools in Petrolina how to incorporate fresh produce from their school gardens into the children’s meals. They’re also learning new recipes and safe food handling techniques to prevent foodborne illness. Many of these food preparers expressed their appreciation for the training and recognition of their hard work. This regular training is one of several elements of INMED’s Crescer Saudável (Growing Healthy) program with the Monsanto Fund to provide greater access to fresh, all-natural food and health education to children age 0-5 and their parents in Petrolina.
