Growing Lush Vegetables and Catfish in the Winter

It’s the middle of winter in the Free State of South Africa, but that’s not stopping the Monyakeng Disabled Peoples Cooperative from growing lush vegetables and plump catfish in their aquaponics system, which INMED South Africa recently expanded with a grant from USAID. The drip irrigation system and other adaptive agriculture practices are also improving the group’s soil-based crops.
