Food for Thought

What better way to learn your colors, numbers and flavors than when you can eat your lesson at the end? That’s what these little cuties at Senhora Maria Ausiliadora preschool did with our Crescer Saudável (Growing Healthy) Coordinator, Maria Naicleide Lustosa de Alencar. She works with the teachers, school manager and cafeteria workers to use their Crescer Saudável garden as a participatory teaching tool, as well as a source of fresh produce for the school’s meals. INMED’s Crescer Saudável program, in partnership with the Monsanto Fund, is improving the nutrition and health of children at 117 preschools in disadvantaged communities of Petrolina, Brazil.
