October is national Farm-to-School Month in the United States. Numerous studies show that a diet rich in vegetables and fruits can lower blood pressure, reduce risk of heart disease and stroke, prevent some types of cancer, and lower risk of eye and digestive problems, among other health benefits. INMED has known the correlation between access to fresh produce and healthy child development for more than 30 years. Our child health programs include school gardens and hands-on education to promote better nutrition, the importance of physical exercise and proper hygiene for lifelong wellness.
