Aquaponics Initiative in Peru

Our team at INMED Andes showcased their growing aquaponics initiative at the first “I Care for the Water” fair. A combination of fish farming and soilless crop production, aquaponics is a chemical-free symbiotic system that consumes 85% less water than traditional farming.

This fun community fair was coordinated by Peru’s national sanitation and water authorities, the Regional Department of Housing, Sanitation and Construction, the local governments of Yarinacocha and Manantay, and sponsors such as INMED Andes to raise awareness among the local population about the importance of conserving and protecting water resources.
