INMED began its work in Peru in the 1980s, working with a Sister Cities project to deliver critical treatment for tuberculosis in the Andes mountains. INMED established a permanent presence in Peru in 2003, beginning with the multinational Centers for Excellence in Teacher Training. INMED’s in-country operational group and formally registered Peruvian nonprofit organization, INMED Andes, was established in 2004. Visit their website at www.inmedandes.org
