An Early Start to Life-long Health

INMED Brasil’s agriculture technicians work with teachers and food service staff in hundreds of schools throughout the country to establish healthy eating habits at the earliest age possible. At the Dona Lulu preschool in Curitiba, for example, students play an active role in planning and maintaining their school garden, from planting to harvesting to preparing meals with the fresh produce they have grown. During one exercise, the teachers encouraged the children to try different foods by arranging them into appealing designs on the plate. Their creativity was impressive—and delicious.
