SABC News aired an interview with INMED South Africa’s Unathi Sihlahla and Khumbudzo Manyaga about the recent launch of INMED’s aquaponic system at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU). In partnership with the Mondelēz International Foundation, this is the latest aquaponic system in a growing number of projects INMED has implemented throughout South Africa. It provides an innovative, climate-smart method of food production using limited space, and the food produced from the NMMU project will feed children in underprivileged primary schools in the Missionvale area in the Eastern Cape.
