A powerhouse crowd of philanthropists, humanitarians and diplomatic dignitaries feted INMED at its 30th anniversary gala and benefit art auction. Hosted by Peruvian Ambassador Carlos Pareja and wife Consuelo at their official residence, the event celebrated the transformational work of INMED in more than 100 countries, with a special focus on its current work in Latin America.
The President of Peru, Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, sent a personal message to recognize INMED and partner Johnson & Johnson for their role in helping his government mobilize a national effort to help Peru become the first endemic country in 70 years to eliminate parasitic intestinal worms as a public health problem in children. He also recognized his long-time friend and former World Bank colleague Eugene (Gene) Rotberg, who was honored at INMED’s event with a special award in his name.
