Peru

Location: Peru

Working in partnership with the U.N. Population Fund, INMED Andes is focusing on improving intercultural health between the indigenous Shipibo-Conibo and Ashaninka communities in the Peruvian Amazon and the central health system, targeting priorities such as gender violence, sexual and reproductive health, and adolescent health and human rights.

Local INMED staff are working with youth and families in their native languages to integrate modern life-saving healthcare with traditional practices and beliefs, reaching more than 15,200 adolescents and 1,200 other women of reproductive age.
